Vince Dooley Show - Feb. 3, 2000

Hotline Reports
Munson opened tonight with - of course - recruiting. Munson noted that a lot of guys changed their minds at the last minute. Dooley said that was not unusual. It is tougher when it works against you than for you. Plus, this class met our needs, as JD and the staff have had two great year. (Remember, we had 5 players make SEC All-Freshman, including 2 OL. Only one other team has had five players make the All-Freshman team.) The number one consideration for a player is where he has a chance to come right in and start, especially since freshmen were eligible.

Sorry, I missed the first half of show. The older I get, the harder it is to change my routine.Coach Harrick on the SEC:
Says Auburn is probably the best team we have faced so far, though we had them on road and Kentucky at home. Tenn. is probably the best team in the league and he wouldn't be suprised to see them in the Final Four. Vandy is a NCAA tourney team and will be a tough game for the Dawgs Wednesday night in Athens. Watching Dan Langy, the SEC scoring leader play, will be worth the price of admission ($5).

Vince Dooley Show - Jan. 27, 2000

Hotline Reports
Munson opened with the possible ramifications of the unusually cold weather on the Super Bowl in Atlanta, and asked Vince if cold weather ever affected bowl practices. Dooley discussed the Cotton Bowl against Texas and the Liberty Bowl in 1987 against Arkansas. They also talked about things that went on at the recent NCAA meetings concerning basketball. Dooley said these main areas were focused on, and were discussion topics only - NO NEW RULES, yet. SEC Commissioner Kramer was especially passionate in discussing these topics, making allusions to the Titanic.

Vince Dooley Show - Jan. 20, 2000

Hotline Reports
Munson & Dooley started off, and concluded 50 minutes later, picking up the discussion over length of games from last week. For instance, the NFL does not stop the clock after a 1st down. It shortens a game, but takes away 7-8 plays. Halftime was also shortened to about 10 minutes; this will never happen in college because of the great bands that many schools have (especially in the SEC). They went on to bowl slotting. VD pointed out that those bowl selection orders are really a second or third pick, not necessarily the second or third pick.

Basketball Hotline Report - Jan. 16, 2000

Hotline Reports
Not alot of new info came out of this show. Alot of rehashing of things brought up on other shows. On the team as a whole Coach Harrick feels:
-Foul shooting is dipping, must improve
-Assists to baskets made was up Saturday and a good sign
-Inside game is our strongest aspect. Evans, Coleman, and Dryden all shooting 50 to 60%. JH wants at least half our shots coming from inside, the other half mid range and 3 point shots.
-Wants to settle on 7 or 8 man rotation. Has probably been playing too many players.
