-Foul shooting is dipping, must improve
-Assists to baskets made was up Saturday and a good sign
-Inside game is our strongest aspect. Evans, Coleman, and Dryden all shooting 50 to 60%. JH wants at least half our shots coming from inside, the other half mid range and 3 point shots.
-Wants to settle on 7 or 8 man rotation. Has probably been playing too many players.
On individual players:
-Moses White was reason for win Saturday. He allows all the other players to relax more and get into their own games.
-Fields is one of 5 best players but for best "team" needs to come off bench. He has been dominating scrimages and practices real hard. He is a strong physical defender and has earned lots of rotation time.
-Coleman brings much intensity to team and lets other players know if they arn't bringing their game. He and Evans will really become good team leaders by next year.
-Dryden since returning from injury and losing 20 lbs. down to 250, is playing his best ball now. JH hopes he can keep giving him 20 minutes a game.
On Wednesday game at LSU:
-they have 2 future NBA 1st rounders in their 2 inside guys at 6-9 and 7-0. Should be quite a challenge for Evans, Coleman, and Dryden.
On the SEC:
-Thinks 12 or 13 wins will get league title
-Kentucky might be strongest team in the league
On UGA postseason prospects:
-Could get in NCAA with 18 wins due to our tough schedule
-Would be glad to get NIT bid with this team.
-JH has only missed 3 postseasons in his coaching career
On recruiting:
-Asked about rating our class this year. JH does not believe in ratings. Has seen McDonalds AA bust and guys not recruited much become stars.
-Doesn't like signing guys based just on seeing at summer league games. JH likes to see how they play with their HS team. But he likes the AAU because those coaches will go to the "end of the earth" to find players and saves JH lots of time looking.
-JH has 3 assistants make 5 contacts each every day (75/week) with someone (coach, player, parent)
On UGA
-JH is real impressed with our being a top 3 total sports program in the NCAA
