Vanderbilt Tickets On Sale Monday To Hartman Fund Donors

From GeorgiaDogs.com: ATHENS – A limited number of tickets to the Georgia vs. Vanderbilt game on Saturday, October 18, will go on sale exclusively to William C. Hartman, Jr. Fund donors beginning Monday, September 29 at Noon. Hartman Fund donors will have until Wednesday, October 1 at Noon to order.

William C. Hartman, Jr. Fund donors will be sent an email at Noon on Monday, September 29, that will feature a direct link to the Gorgia-Vanderbilt ticket sales.

Oct. 11 Georgia-Tennessee Game To Be Televised by CBS; Kickoff 3:30 p.m. ET

From GeorgiaDogs.com: ATHENS - The Saturday, Oct. 11, SEC football game between Georgia and Tennessee in Athens will be televised by CBS with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m. ET.

This will be Georgia’s second appearance this season on CBS. The Sept. 13 Georgia-South Carolina game in Columbia was a CBS telecast. Georgia has appeared on CBS a total of 57 times and the Bulldogs have a record of 34-22-1.

Scott opened tonite noting that 6 SEC teams are ranked this week, including Vandy, and that the Tennessee game Oct. 11 is now officially set for a 3:30 kickoff (CBS).

Georgia’s Larry Munson Announces Retirement

From GeorgiaDogs.com: ATHENS-------Legendary University of Georgia football play-by-play announcer Larry Munson, who began broadcasting Bulldog games in 1966, has announced his retirement from the booth.

Munson has done only home games thus far this season and in 2007; however, he has decided that the Central Michigan broadcast on Sept. 6, was his last. The current road game booth crew of Scott Howard and Eric Zeier will finish out the 2008 season handling home and away games.

“I can’t express enough my deep feelings toward the Georgia football fans,” said Munson.

Tonight’s show finds LOTS going on in the Bulldog Nation tonight. #3 Georgia is coming off a 27-10 win at Arizona St. this past Saturday night, and is getting ready to host #8 Alabama this coming Saturday night (7:45, ESPN). Coach Richt has asked the fans to wear black, and ESPN College Gameday will be in Athens Saturday. Also, legendary play-by-play announcer Larry Munson announced his retirement this afternoon (the announcement came about 5:15 this afternoon). Scott Howard takes over hosting Bulldog Hotline, in addition to taking over for Munson calling the games.
